The conference was attended by Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, Secretary General Konstantinos Aravossis and other representatives of the state leadership. Issues related to marine single-use plastics and the circular economy, the existing institutional framework for single-use plastic waste management, alternative management systems were discussed and good practices were presented in these areas. BlueCycle as a good practice in the management of fishing and shipping plastic equipment was invited to present by Mrs Suzanna Laskaridis, as fishing gear is included in the European Directive on single-use plastics. Using this material\u00a0 applying the circular economy principles consists an example of the potential for achieving Greece&#8217;s and European Union&#8217;s goals for the plastic waste management.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The conference was supported by the A.C.
