{"id":661,"date":"2019-11-19T22:13:38","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T20:13:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluecycle.com\/?p=661"},"modified":"2019-11-25T12:35:00","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T10:35:00","slug":"our-new-activity-recyclable-3d-printed-furniture-made-100-marine-plastic-waste","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluecycle.com\/en\/our-new-activity-recyclable-3d-printed-furniture-made-100-marine-plastic-waste\/","title":{"rendered":"Our new activity: Recyclable 3D printed furniture made of 100% marine plastic waste"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BlueCycle joins forces with the architectural duo The New Raw and proposes creative solutions through the production of a new line of recycled plastic furniture, using marine plastic waste generated mainly from shipping and fishing activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3D printing technology<\/strong>, combined with a long-term <strong>Research &amp; Design project<\/strong>, gives a new perspective for the reuse of marine plastic waste to prevent this material from re-entering the ecosystem, but to be &#8220;reborn&#8221; instead!<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>3D printed furniture made of 100% marine plastic<\/strong> waste will bear <strong>unique production features <\/strong>and they will be <strong>totally recyclable by BlueCycle<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>The process is simple: the marine plastic waste is collected from the nationwide network, created and developing by the BlueCycle programme. The material will undergo appropriate treatment at the <strong>BlueCycle Lab<\/strong>, <strong>the only specialized laboratory in Greece for the reuse of marine plastic waste<\/strong>, in Piraeus, where is housed the <strong>first and only robotic laboratory for large-scale 3D printing in Greece<\/strong>. The resulting material will be used by a &#8220;robot&#8221; for printing high-end furniture, designed by The New Raw.
